What to choose: the gravel in lime or the trout knee jelly?

It has been a while hasn’t it? So many things to tell you about and I know exactly where to start. It seemed like a normal pair of tights, but little did Johnny know the incredible adventures that lay inside….

Now in Cinemascope!

We supported Satori in the Uplands Tavern on the 20th. It was a very warm night, and we played well because we had been drinking white wine and were none to sure on our feet. Monica gets the benefit of sitting down, although if she wanted to stand up she would not be able to. I, on the other hand, prefer to stand but have the option to sit if I am that way inclined. Which of us is happier? What would Socrates say?

“My signature move was the blind heel pass.”

Satori were good, we were good, the crowd could have done with a bit more coaching, but at the end of the day when all is said and done ultimately you have to ask yourself if the shoe were on the other foot and the tables were turned would you consider that in all fairness the final analysis showed that the facts were weighed sufficiently to give an indication one way or the other whether there was in any real sense a factor that may or may not have or have not been substantially responsible either wholly or in part for one or more or none of the mitigating circumstances that said party or parties may have been party to or in collusion with for the foreseeable future in all cases the part which is of as what was then of the at is and one for the nonce.

On Friday Kirsten drove us all the way from the car park of the Ship Inn to Leelapolooza. Thank you Kirsten. It was a great weekend, despite the rain that showed up at some time after it got dark and we were all full of booze, pork and the galvanated harpsichord funnel. If you know what I mean. By Thunder! I’d like a harpsichord. Mr Burn’s pig made for a very enjoyable few days of feasting. If only we could all, by being butchered, bring as much pleasure to our fellow man. The world would be a better place if cannibalism was taught in schools. We would probably have to eat the rich first before they bought us all and put us in farms where they force corn up your bum and call you Carol.

We came back from Leelapolooza Sunday afternoon and brought Mr Burns himself with us. We drank more beer, incinerated more of the Spong and I stayed awake through War of the Worlds and fell asleep in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Thus ended the weekend.

The week drifted past like a slug in syrup before Huw called yesterday and said “Fancy a gig? I’ll give you £20.” Last night was gig night then and some beer was drunk. We played pretty well, although my voice was a little cracked due, no doubt, to the weekend’s abuses. We also had some “jazz” moments but nothing which would warrant a formal written warning. It was a lovely night and we were well received, with more enthusiasm than the Tavern can usually muster.

This morning was get up late and get to work even later morning, so that is what I did. I am now sat in my hot office feeling very uncomfortable. I can’t adjust my chair so that it is comfy and I can’t listen to the test match. But at least I have Wikipedia to keep my entertained. Today I have read about: The Bulbasaur, Mick Ronson, Blackberries and the Velvet Underground. What a world of information there is.

Our friend Neil has started his own weekly podcast at his new site here: www.thepomoshow.com. The first one is due on the 31st of July, so tune your calculating machines to the appropriate oscillations.

In other news: Denmark is the happiest country in the world according to researchers. Well done the Danes.

Would that be Socrates the Post or Socrates the Milk? Or just plain Wyn Socrates from Merthyr Tydfil? Pardon my ignorance Mr.Frictionless but what, in heavens name, (if as a philosopher you would accept such a term) is Leelap.............. Wiki....... doesn´t have a record. I was in Sweden recently with some Swedish friends and they thought Danes were all strange. Still in a country where the bloody sun shines all night what can they say?
I was glad to read that you had managed to get hold of book by Kant. He was always one of my favourites. I remember seeing him live once but I thought he was better in PlayAway.
I await enlightenment.

That would be Socrates the Brazilian.

A Leelapolooza is a party at Mr Burns' country estate the main purpose of which was to devour one of his pets, which was a pig.

Kant did some of his best work in the Play Away era; the "Synthetic a priori Song" for instance, "The Moral Case for eating your Greens Song" and my personal favorite "Jeremy Irons owes me £20".

I've been away.

Now I'm back (in black).

Glad to hear that Porkstock was a rip-roaring humdinger of a success. Once again I'm sorry I've missed it.

Socrates would have said something in Greek. Which is fine, of course, but it's all Greek to me so not much use.

Portugese, they speak Portugese. Portugese I tell you!

Portugese isn't a real language; it's just a word that came about when someone tried to feed fortified wine to poultry...
