Exploits of the Frictionless Man as it wanders around the world like some kind of slippery hydra. Music, words and pictures a speciality.

Soapy gherkin bash, bring skidoo.

Rhys will be launching his book in two days time, and hopefully he will sell a few to keep him in chocolate bars and espadrilles. It should be a good evening; we have learnt some new songs and will be playing for about an hour, some at the beginning of the evening and the rest at the end.

Friday will be the last gig we have booked for the year because most places I have tried seem to be booked up until the New Year so there has not been much around. So bar any support slots that anyone would like us to play we will not be doing much I anticipate, unless I can find a couple of venues who have not organised themselves. Organisation is all well and good, but it’s interfering with our ambition.

I am slowly succumbing to the malaise that comes from knowing that we will be moving to Liverpool next year. Despite the fact that April, when we plan to be off, is more than 28 weeks away there is a little bit of me that keeps saying “what’s the point of trying to get a gig in Swansea” which is a bit self defeating since we actually enjoy playing the gigs, which is the point of them, not to make any fame inducing moves. Foolish boy. Once I have actually got some more dates in the diary I’m sure it will dissipate. Maybe that is why so many venues have filled their diaries already, so as to give them something to postpone the inevitable boredom? Must be, any other explanation would be inconceivable. And if you do conceive of anything that seems like an explanation it must be something else.

The Frictionless Man website is currently out of action, but will be back soon with a new look and nice pictures. Mark our webmaster is arranging to host it on his very own server, and tells me there will be new things to do there. I’ll let you know when the time is now, because it is not now yet.

Not now either.

I'm slowly succumbing to the Liverpool that comes with knowing that I'm going to be moving to Malaysia...
I was looking for replies to my last comments on the other strands, but there are none and now there's a new post. Had the other ones gone on too long? Awfully sorry about that and the fact that my comments aren't worth replying to.
Yours self-pityingly,
Morriston.

Being the last one to comment means that you are the winner, so don't be glum you won twice in a row!

Your comments are always wonderful and always funny and always perfectly punctuated.

Liverpool? That really is CHAV. Why Liverpool?

Because it's cheaper than Monte Carlo!
That's my guess anyway.

I'm missing Stuart and Monica already... my eyes are watering without irony!

My eyes are watering without iron; usually I have to rub iron filings into my eyes to make myself cry.

Hey Rhysaurus, you look like someone else in that picture...not sure who, just not you.

Object,if you want to generalise about a city, try Cardiff instead. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Cardiff is a cunt of a city.

I'm sorry I won't be able to make it to your book launch tonight, Rhysaurus. Will you be using a cannon or some kind of homemade ballista/catapult? Or maybe rockets attached to the sides like a space shuttle? Haha.

He used bottles of lemonade that had been shaken, furiously, for a year.

What about now?

Mr Frictionless said...

No, not now neither.

I think it's already been and you all missed it. It was great!

Mr Frictionless said...

Whatever it was that was great for you was not it, it has not happened yet. Trust me, I'll tell you when now is now, but now is not now now.

Cheers, but what I had was so great I'm not bothered about whatever the other thing was, see ya!
