Exploits of the Frictionless Man as it wanders around the world like some kind of slippery hydra. Music, words and pictures a speciality.

To the casual observer this blog might appear to be a weekly thing. Of course they might suspect that is deliberate, but they would be wrong. Who are they anyway?

Thanks to Licking Chocolate Jesus and our wonderful Mystery Band for a great night on Wednesday, and thanks to all of you wonderful people who came along and listened and wooed and clapped and made the evening go with a bang. Thank you also to Chris at the Inferno for all the assistance, and Dan for making us sound good.

There was a live recording of the event, created by Andrew and Paul, which, depending on quality control, may be available to some of you lot. Ask nicely.

So what next? Well we have two weeks of recording coming up in March and we have entered the Battle of the Bands at Swansea University. This will be a good way to see what sort of stuff the future of the country are writing. Someone said "Emo". I realised that I needed to get a bit more savvy when I responded "Rod Hull".

Some of you may not get that joke.

It is also with great sadness that we note the passing of Hunter S Thompson. His writing has had a grip on my state of mind ever since I first read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and have always wished I could match his passion and intensity, his desire to buck the system, mark out hypocrisy, celebrate freedom and harangue those who denied it. Problem is that few people can sustain the offensive whilst being slowly throttled by the clammy palms of conformity. Maybe now would be a good time to have a look around at what you're sat in and try and remember how you ended up there, and ask yourself if its everything you ever dreamed of.

Then get out of dodge and form a rock band. Hunter, we salute you.
